The grayness of a winter day
Creative juices dry
But streams of thought life flow again
When sun rays hit the sky
Wait winter hasn’t moved in yet
Why then should darkness loom
Believing seasons grey and cold
When fall is yet in bloom
When penning can become a care
Void words no soothing prize
Reflecting on the Savior’s pain
Our debt he paid, revives
Behold the inspiration of
A palette waiting near
To capture in a moment
Words that edify and cheer
Soak in the vibrant Autumn hues
Delight in Fall’s quick show
Then safely harbor all your thoughts
For now’s a time to grow
Awake from dryness capture it
And help someone abound
Your words can be a precious tone
To those who need a sound

Poet to poet, strange as it seems I am inspired to write
more in winter, especially around Christmas time.
your poem seems to say you do not. poets see
seasons differently don’t we? and that makes
writing poetry so wonderful as we see with our
hearts not just our eyes. evelyn Heinz, fulltime mother
