Schools close, businesses halt, the Dow plunges, international travel is reduced, and most people isolate. While social distancing takes hold, the birds act as if nothing has happened. And why not? Because nothing in their world has changed.
The Bible tells us that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. Heb 13:8. Although our world has changed, our position has not. We still live in a fallen world, filled with imperfect humans. Sin is present, we are needy, but we lean into a perfect God. In His presence we find stability and power, knowing what is most important remains the same. Colossians 3:2 gives this instruction for a good reason. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
When we look too closely at circumstances, they can dishearten us. If instead, we position ourselves near God, seeking His presence and holiness, through prayer, thanksgiving and Bible study, we can remain at rest in a turbulent world. When we focus on truth it helps to keep our wayward thoughts under control. You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13
Is it possible that too many words are the problem, rather than too few? Too many blogs, too many threads…too many opinions? We cannot trust all we hear, but we can trust the right Word. All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. 2 Tim 3: 16-17
Let’s learn from the birds. They stay busy flying, feeding and nesting, doing exactly what they did before the Covid-19 virus became a reality. Although our routines have changed, our mindset can remain focused on God. In that position we find peace, truth and life.
The Lord bless you, and keep you; The Lord make His face shine on you, and be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance on you, and give you peace. Numbers 6:24-26

Excellent words and encouragement.. it’s too bad it can’t be made public. Yes, it’s more words, but oh, so wise! Thanks!!
Thank-you, Val. I hope it serves to point people to Christ.
Praise God he is the same always.
He never changes.. as long as we focus on him we can keep grounded.
That’s true Karen. Thanks for the insight.
The perfect reminder. God is still on his throne!
Thank you, Jewell!

“Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day. For momentary light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, while we look not at the things which are seen but the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.”…2 Corinthians 4:16-18
That’s a perfect verse. So applicable for these times. Thanks, Faith.
Thank you Jewell, for this beautiful, vivid reminder of our gracious fathers continued LOVE and care for us. May God bless you as you have always been such a blessing to me! Stay safe and healthy!
Cheryl, Thank-you for your kind spirit. You are a blessing to all you encounter. Praising God for your uplifting words today!
The birds have the answer: keep doing what you are called to do, adjust where needed, be observant, and keep moving forward. Causes, problems are consistent in a sin-full world. Thank God for Jesus who is our Hope.
You are right, Jesus is our hope. What great observations. Thank you, Lyvita.
